Hi,
Could anyone please have a look at the attached receipt and tell me if it looks ok?

I thought I was getting a full service done but only got a vehicle health check tick sheet back and the attached bill.

My motorhome is a Fiat Ducato 2010 and has 26,000 miles on the clock.

Thanks in advance :)

Think you have been well stuffed, go to trading standards, Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask.

Sorry if this is not what you were hoping to hear.
From the parts you have been charged for it looks like you have and a full service and cam belt change.
(or that is what you are being charged for!).

If you didn't ask for an estimate I don't think you have a valid complaint.

Did you get the service book stamped? Is so what did it say?

What engine is fitted?

Majority of bill is timing belt. Not only mileage determines when to change, time is also a change point. If it's the first belt change then it's been on for over 10 years.
Mine is changed every 5. Not knowing what engine you have, I think ten years is a couple of years into squeaky bum time.
First change was main dealer circa £700, second was independent commercial vehicle garage £350.
My question is why two trans belts and two filtering elements.
All I can think is axillary belt and air filter, scratching my head as to other belt and element.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm confused by it because they haven't charged me a service fee looking at the receipt and I have no service paperwork, they did not stamp my book as it wasn't with the vehicle, it was initially with them because I had to get my body control module replaced at a cost of almost £1800 and then an MOT at £845 after repairs, then there was this bill for £1027.

I asked for estimates and was told they would get back to me as they were short staffed due to covid and then the next thing I know they are asking for the money for work done.

I have also just noticed they have charged me twice for the MOT despite the motorhome staying with them the whole time and it having the repairs done within a week.

The engine is a 2.3 multijet.

Thanks.

I agreed to have the cambelt changed as I didn't know when it was last changed.
I am going to email them to ask them to explain the belts and filters as I have no idea why they were changed.

Well mine has 2 aux drive belts they would have to come off to do the timing belt makes sense to put new back. One filter would be the air filter the other might be the the one in the heater (pollen) not unusual to change that during a service looks like you got away with the oil

Google is your friend to help work out what’s what - just use the whole number part not the FI000… part ie the last 8 or 9 numbers

there are 2 drive belts the cam belt and the auxiliary belt that drives the alternator, power steering pump as examples. 3 filters possible, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter. Or 4 if you include pollen filter. Check the numbers. They’re Fiat numbers helping to explain the prices charged.

the camshaft drive set will be the idlers tensioner etc

i always change the water pump because it’s a pita to do it later, and I don’t see a charge for any oil - check your dipstick!
hope that helps.

I forgot the air con belt - so all 3 belts have been charged for

air filter and fuel filter fitted, along with the oil filter.

I’d ask why the pollen filter wasn’t fitted as it is a doddle to fit and should be replaced every couple of years

Looks like a pretty typical service receipt to me in terms of its presentation to be perfectly honest.
Missing getting charged for oil, so handy.
What is a little surprising maybe is no water pump change? that is typically done with a timing belt (especially if no history of changing present) as a case of "may as well". It might well depend on what engine of course, as the "may as well" works do vary by engine make and model.

I assumed 2010 Ducato will .be 2.3 x250

I’ve got a picture of when I changed my water pump when it was showing no need to do it - until the inside was checked. I’ll try and find it to add here.
