What a bunch of party-poopers! :p :lol-053:

I'm popping in here to fly the flag very vigorously for all things Jubilee because I think it's been an incredible weekend of celebration... loved all the sights and sounds and colours of every glorious minute. What a spectacle! Well I guess I agree about some of the sound issues and performances at the concert... amongst others, Cliff and Paul McCartney were pretty dire - sad because I was a huge Beatles fan, HUGE! On the other hand, Tom Jones, Kylie and Stevie Wonder were amazing and I got through several tissues during Charles' warm and funny speech. I don't think London has ever heard a louder cheer than the one that went up in support of Prince Philip when Charles said maybe he could hear their cheers from hospital... and then the spontaneous chanting of Philip's name. I'm watching the balcony appearance and fly-past now and right at this minute, I for one am proud as punch of our country and our Royals :)

Roll on the Olympics :D

Yes I agree Minsorella some were good and I watched it right through.

I also watched the program about the making of the anthem with Gary Barlow and it was very good but he did all that travelling around the world picking out certain singers and sounds then put a huge choir and band on the stage and drowned the poor buggers out. The poor aborigini must have had his microphone turned off.

I thought exactly the same about over-egging it! :lol-053: Did you see the part where Gary was showing the Queen the video of his journey and she saw Prince Harry with the tambourine? Proper proud granny moment... :D There have been lots of fascinating and very human moments through all the celebratory programmes... some amazing film clips and photos of the Queen's younger days.

Yes the old films they showed were good.

I'm not a Royalist but I accept they do a good job and the one thing I love, for all the money the yanks have they aint got a Royal family and it just shows money can't buy everything.

I am proud to be a Welshman but I'm also proud to be British.

Listening to the highlights of last nights concert, they've certainly re mixed the audio and added reverb etc, they sound so much better, but they've cut out Cheryl Cole and shortened Cliff to just congratulations, wonder why???!!!!.

I always love the flypast, especially the Merlin engines of the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane.

I love those old planes also I think it's because my father was in the air force and spoke about them often to me as a child.

Fond memories.

I thought it was great although some of them want putting out to grass.

At least this thread has stayed civilised, the one on FACTS got so heated it was pulled.
