Nice to see my old school mates Madness,Graham ( Suggs) was in my class at school !!! Quintin Kynaston comprehensive St Johns wood London.

did have annie lennoxes

uncle as my wood work teacher..lol

Sadly the sound mixing didn't do many of the artistes proud.

I know it's live, but the BBC could do better!!

Cheers, didnt think she sang too well tonight though. You may have started a theme with who knows who though!!!:lol-061:

I had a wander into Inverness, lots of pipe bands very stirring.

Special mention to Fraser school Inverness,...lots of young people highlland dancing to a piper..some perhaps only 5 or 6..

Fantastic to ser youngsters involved in something very cultural to where they live.

Also a reminder that the UK dkes have its own culture and diversity.

I think Gary Barlow certainly knows how to put a concert together. A pleasant night's viewing :)

I wondered what the likes of Will-i-am and Stevie Wonder were doing there. I can see the connection of any of the Commonwealth countries sending representatives, but I didn't see the connection of the American performers there. My wife watched it for a bit as I found other things to do around the house, but even she switched it off after a while. I hope everyone who attended enjoyed the show.

The sound was a lot short of perfect but it was better than the river pageant. A bunch of row boats in the pooring rain. What about those poor girls drenched on top of the boat while trying to sing. Can anybody remember when we used to teach the rest of the world what Pomp and Ceremony was all about.

We watched for about 10 minutes. Decided to take a walk on the beach instead. Met a bunch of young kids having a BBQ behind the large rocks. Had a chat with them then realised we were yapping for an hour and a half. Said our good byes and as we started to walk away we said, "Lads, don't get caught BBQ'ing, cost £1000. A nice evening altogether.

Totally agree - he wasn't even in tune at the beginning! (never did like him anyway).

Grace Jones needed the hula hoop to take our attention away from her awful clothing and ruination (imho) of waht was a good song.

Stevie Wonder was excellent - he was there for the title of the songs he sang, although I did get a bit abboyed when they kept mentioning the Queen's birthday - I know it is close but we're not there yet! Whatever that totally out of tune Will-I-am was doing there I have no idea!

Madness were of course Madness - superb! I remember going to see them on the '2 Tone Tour' back in 1979 along with The Specials and The Selector - I thought then that they would be they first ones to stop making music - shows what I know doesn't it?:)

I can see Gary Barlow being recommended for a Knighthood now as a lot of those involved already hold the title. He certainly put together a well worked show, imo - a few sound problems here and there, what I hope was a lighting projection problem when the Union Flag stopped being shown Buck house and the French flag seemed to be there - a live show with lots of change-overs and not many obvious issues - job well done!

a dissapointing preformence from Paul Mcartney he stuggeled to get his words out no power in his voice at all BUT i have enjoyed watching the jubilee only wish i could of been in London

Just got back from a fabulous television-and-jubilee-free festival at Southwell with some amazing music including from Jools Holland's band. Weather crap but, judging from the comments above, we had the better music :)

I have been in a darkened room for a week to avoid the hype of the jubilee, I am a republican and would get rid of the lot them if I had my way, well not a darkened room but a green field away from the hype, next thing to avoid for me is the Olympic hype, ho hum boring old fart me ,but at least I know it.:dance::dance:
