Afternoon all
I've just put some PURICLEAN in our new water tank to make sure there are no nasties in it from production etc. but I've flushed it out a few times but there still seems to be some PURICLEAN "silt" in the bottom of the tank. I can't really get the tank out easily to tip it up to remove this last sediment of the PURICLEAN, do you think it will be ok to use? We use the water for cooking, boiling the kettle and for the dogs drinking water.

Thanks

Colin.

I'm sure it'll be OK I've never noticed that sediment that you talk of. But while my tanks draining I keep stirring with a brush while the last 6" it drains away

Hi witzend.

Thank you. That's a good and simple idea, I'll get myself a brush and have another go tomorrow.
Thanks again
Colin. 🙂👍

Yes it will be fine if you have rinsed it out, would probably be fine if you haven’t. I only ever put 20 or so litres through to flush before filling it and I drink the water from my tank.

Okay I may be a bit weird but I was like that before I ever flushed a tank 😂😂😂

Thanks Nabsim.
All helping to put my mind at rest.

The same happens when I do mine and we drink from it without ever a problem, thanks for the reminder must do ours again soon. I've tried hosing the last bit out but there is always a few dregs left.

do you mix it before adding to tank
  1. Dissolve the required amount of Puriclean powder in water (a plastic container is ideal).
  2. Agitate to dissolve and add to the main tank.
  3. Fill the tank with water. ...
  4. Leave to soak for 1 to 12 hours, depending on condition of water system.
  5. Empty tank by pumping out stirring as it goes

I usually do, but this is a new tank and I must admit I just put it into the full tank.

Probably my fault as it hadn't dissolved properly. It's nearly all gone now. I'm going to give it another couple of rinses and that should do it 🙂👍

I cleanse our fresh water tank annually but we do not drink from it. We carry a 5 litre container and fill that up from taps.

Me too although we do fill the kettle from the tank sometimes as it gets boiled anyway.

My Mrs insists on any other drinks from the 5 litre bottle though. I'm not precious about it myself as I think we're too sterile these days.

Should be fine after a couple of rinses, but if we open taps to empty we drive off at once, gives it a good stir and better for a more complete empty, with taps open too of course in the hope of scavenging pipework.

I use peracitic acid which is a foodsafe sterilisation product used in the brewing industry, I also drink from the tap.🥳
