They have on the website 'see our covid 19 guidance' , but then don't appear to have any link.
Gf noticed on news one of the first visitors interviewed coming into Heathrow on day 14 day self isolation was introduced said he was coming for a holiday!

Looks like they are closed if you read their Twitter.

Online chat not available either

Hi,

I have just finished work for maternity leave and thought what better way to refresh is a week long in a camper van. Booked and paid £1000 for one week hire........and then realised not a single campsite is open until 4th July.

I genuinely didn’t realise that this was an issue with my own washing / cooking / toilet facilities. However now have no-where to stay other than my own front garden.

WAS planning on driving the south coast from Hastings to SandBanks, stopping in Brighton.

Any advice, should I give up and stay put or do you think there are fields / sites / pubs that I can still stop over in?

Many thanks,
Emma

What week have you booked ? We are all waiting to see if things lighten up before the 4th July ?
How big is the MH ?
Would it be so bad to do day trips and shut the blinds once home ?

Other options have been covered.

Until the government rules change you must stay home each night, so the only option is your front garden. You could use the van for day trips in England but must return home at night.
Incorrect the rules have been proven to be no more than a recomendation and not law,the N Irish are running round and when stopped by police just say take me to court and thats the end of it cause they cant.
I was on the ph to other outboard dealers and they just stayed open and went about there biz,im the only one who went into lock down.

Did the OP pay by credit card, or debit card. ?
Either way, she could be covered..?

On the positive side, Trev . .
You're the proud possessor of a smart new bathroom, a mass of brownie points.....and a wife who loves you even more than she did before lockdown.

In England it is the law.

I assumed motorhome hire companies would be closed but a quick google found this

not read any of the details but it seems crazy to me that motorhome hire companies are renting vans out and not explaining the lock down rules to people (if that is the case).
Oh my!

This beggars belief!

I mentioned in another thread that it was often motorhome hirers that gave us all a bad name by not know how to behave. In their defence how should they unless they are briefed, this surely is the job of the hire companies.

Here we see an advert (well website sales spiel) that just underline this fact.

I'm sure I've wasted my time but I have reported this website to both the UK and Scottish trading standards.

There may well be others but you can only talk about the ones you know about.

I'm "fizzing!" as they say here.

Phill

Just do a grand tour of all the upcoming BLM marches - I'm sure you'll have abs no problem, at least not with the police anyway. ✊

Don't think you'd be too popular staying in Sandbanks ( Try Durham )

have you actually read the article you linked to?

it states that the minister has said theyve changed the law from ban unless allowed by specific exemption to anythings allowed unless specifically banned.

it also gives a list of some reasons for staying away from home overnight, to me the most flexible would seem to be for work.

it also states the rule/advise was one should not stay overnight in another persons home.

in short nothing in that article to say its illegal to stay overnight in a motorhome.

Read here. On page 3 section 6 subsection 1 it is clear than except for a few stated reasons you must not stay overnight except at the place where you are living. In the case of the OP those exceptions do not apply.
