You still must use an etch first, a very good primer, any others like Jutun, sigma will do as well.

No all pro etch uses a hardner, rattle can paint is for school boys to paint walls with LOL.

I've used U-POL Acid #8 Etch Primer on steel/galvanised steel in a rattle can with success previously. Still going strong after 15years. Not outdoor though but on a transformer cover and goes through regular heat cycles.
Got to agree with Molly, it's all in the prep.
