Hi, Has anyone stayed in/near Prague? Not averse to using a site ( as a one off ) in order to see the city.....

There are lots of sites in and around Prague, There are 2 on the river near the sailing club and one run by a hotel.
We stayed near the university ski slope,it was summer. The trams stopped outside and the main line trams ran throughout the night. I'm sorry I can't be more specific as I have passed on my site books to someone else.

However may I reccomend a site just outside at Karlstad where the treasury castle is and the site is down in the village by a river idyllic.

Hi, we have stayed on this site twice. Its a bit of a walk to the tram stop, but an excellent site that also does evening meals if you do not fancy cooking after a long day.

I should add that we were last here at least 8 years ago so things may have changed.

Superb City, well worth a few days wandering around. I probably wouldn't take a van into the centre tho cos public transport (esp the trams & Metro) is so good. You buy a book of tickets at a tobacconist kiosk or similar & clip them yourself when on the tram. Every so often an inspector will board & check everyone's ticket with an instant fine if you haven't followed the rules!

Lots of restaurants, and relatively few with traditional Czech food, but they are worth seeking out. Prices in restaurants can be high, as pricey as London, Paris or Rome. You'll love it.
