I used to have a Bongo and never had any trouble with closing the side sliding door as it was soft close/motorised or electric...not sure.....I now have an Adria Twin 55 reg....does anyone know if its possible to get the door in it done the same, its just really heavy/hard to pull closed when inside esp,as the is nothing to actually pull easily...... ;)

Hi, wev'e had Volkswagens in the past, and himself used to grease the top and bottom runners on the sliding door, they used to run pretty easily. I have never come across anything motorised.

There is kit that fits x250/x290, don't know about x244, but quite a few people have found it's not too good and have gone back to manual.
Make sure all is ok with door, then learn a technique, usually best to start with door wide open so you can build up some momentum.

I find it makes a big difference if you have a window or skylight open when you come to close the door from the inside.

When we were in turkey all the dolmushes had a electric motor with a plastic gear drive on the sliding doors not sure what the cost would be though

I own a IH tio based on the fiat ducato 250 and prior to this one a Trigano Tribute, both with side sliding door, my advice (mine only) is DO NOT GREASE the sliding door rollers, remember grease will attract road dust and it will act as sand paper very detrimental to the rollers, all they need is a good spurt of I think its called G18 fluid or wd40 but absorb the excess with a cloth, even spray behind the roller stainless drive to avoid rust, the secret of door closing I found is to get the door almost 12 inches from the closed position and then slam it from inside, from out I usually close it from the back by giving it a push to help it close, it always works for me :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I have trouble with the sliding door and the drivers door on my T4, they seem to bounce out again onto the latch instead of closing properly. I've found having the window open helps, gives something to grab hold of as well. I think they're too airtight. From outside it's not a problem as you can give them a good shove.
