Today I received a demand for £14 for toll charges in Portugal! Not going there again Spain was much nicer.

2019 Swiss Vignette £30
AND journeys are longer so you spend more on fuel ! ! !

Brother got £35 parking ticket other day - plenty of parking spaces - i saw traffic warden take pic of his car and asked if he was parked legally - his answer was didn't think traffic wardens would be around - i called him a c*** - they had him bang to rights

You are welcome to it, we weren't very impressed with Portugal or with their sneaky toll system especially. Spain does have tolls but not as many and they are straightforward to use.Spain has tolls, more room for us if you don’t go

The £14 included a fine of £8.26. I don't really mind toll roads but I object to the way Portugal collects them, sometimes at a toll booth and sometimes from automatic cameras which are not always obvious or possible to avoid. I had no idea they existed until I was on them as we saw no information upon entering the country.

When we are travelling we check regions for tolls I think we got caught out once in France on a diversion over a toll bridge. Ron wasn’t impressed but we wouldn’t not go back. It’s the price of beer in France that puts us off

I received something like a 200 euro fine from Portugal for parking up in the same place too long. Threw it in the bin and bought a new van - that'll teach em.
