Pop up campsites - a good thing?

Playing devil's advocate...

IF next door to me decided to open as a campsite I'd possibly be concerned...

IF 'next door' was several acres away then I probably wouldn't be bothered.

It's easy to point the NIMBY finger at times BUT these things need consideration on a individual merit basis IMHO..

There isn't a one size fits all solution.
True, but when the gov wants to do something they just steam roller over folk with or without an agreement, esp where the brown envelope changes hands..

Are they really? With no facilities? We generally pay between £5 - £10 a night for a basic CL. If I was paying £25 I would expect hookup and showers which of course both of which I don't need.

I would like to see the restrictions lifted so there was more insentive to set up private Aires like you often find in France and Germany. Basically Larger CL sites.
I guess that's the downside of Cornwall. I think they do have portable toilets at that price.

If anyone knows of under a tenner sites in Cornwall then please let me know!

Chatting to a guy yesterday (27th August so the bank holiday Friday) and he told me he was going mad trying to find a caravan spot for the weekend. I suggested he google pop ups as a possibility. So all around this location was full. Don't that say something? And before the pre planners dive in he had to hold off due to uncertainty over an operation his wife was having.

Actually the prices I was quoting were for the two months we spent in Devon and Cornwall in June and July this year. We exclusively used the CL network and if you hunt around there are still plenty under a tenner. I posted a few on here.
