I could have said it in Portuguese or Arabic as well but its been too long since I spoke them and one forgets, does`nt one.

Please give me the correct version as the sentiment is correct.

How do you know this? I am just curious that's all, and anyway, if you think about it, why should his mental state be considered mitigating? If he is so poorly that he can be persuaded to smuggle drugs he could just as well smuggle explosives. If he is so poorly why is he allowed to be out without supervision? If his lack of mental health is considered to be in mitigation, I would imagine that the Chinese borders would then be considered fair game to any organisation that could get hold of a mentally unstable person. I do not think there is a shortage of them in the public domain nowadays.

gotta say,the chinese did the right thing,and good on them.If it stops drug trafficking or sends out a clear message that you will be punished with death,good for them.Just a shame the illegal immigrant who knocked down and killed the young child and wrecked the familys life last week in the news (on xmas eve) wasnt also sent to a just end.

Exactly, Since those we entrust to be in charge have decided to close mental health hospitals and elect for (so called) care in the community ?

Surely it follows No wonder there is more in the public domain is it ?

As I mentioned in an earlier post I accept that mental illness can and is used as a ruse...But surely an evaluation of mental state where suggested and the punishment being capital should be explored morally if nothing else.

Mental illness is exactly that an illness and possibly mitigating ?..

TBH Cooly I dont have a problem, issue with the Chinese laws, I am just not convinced this person was fully articulate.( and like yourself I only have the news to form an opinion)

The fact that the person was an illegal immigrant in the case you sight I dont see has relevant to the case. His Immigration status is a different matter and bears no relation to the crime?

I would like to think he was found guilty on his shortcomings of driving skills or lack of.

In the case of rapists, paedophiles , fwiw more than happy to see the buggers swing !!
