POIs to avoid

I think part of the issue is some knob picks up on the fact that we're older and can be perhaps intimidated if he has enough mates to make them feel safe and they can all contact each other by phone or SM and like that, you have a potential problem, if you decide to leave they can follow you to the next place and at midnight it is, much less easy to find anywhere.

We have been there twice Graham but in the middle of the week, and were for fortunate enough to have had three quiet nights. We parked close to the elsan point at the other end. It’s a real shame what happened to you and Shirley. Shame the police did not show up. If this happens to us I will contact the local council. Driving about like that in a carpark has serious safety implications for everyone.
Not sure of set up now but Hawick police station was the training centre for the area .
Wouldn't be unusual to bump into half a dozen polis at 4am

Sorry to hear this Kev, hope you are both ok now.

But this only serves to highlight that these places have many issues, but apparently we alone require to be dealt with. Part of the problem is the very lack of suitable places due to the stupidity and narrow minded attitudes of some towards us.
I have no doubt that if those carparks had been filled with poorly behaved motorhome owners it would have resulted in media coverage followed by inappropriate measures.
I think the Workington Gazette will have an appropriate article on their front page next week .....

"Local Youths terrorised by outsiders in their Motorhome.
Darren and Wayne said 'we woz minding our own bizness when this 'orrible bloke wiv a bandana over one eye played "Antiques Roadshow" on his telly so loud we couldn't hear ourselves fink'"

I have witnessed some terrible behaviour whilst wc. I have seen some selfish behaviour from some within our community, but by far the worse behaviour I have witnessed had nothing to do with us.

Keep wc Kev, enjoy the rest of your trip. (y)

Graham called them an none turned up.
I know , suspect staffing levels a lot lower nowadays. Even then , as we all know , getting a response from police is a lottery.
Council might well be interested in this problem

I would have thought CCTV would be a solution. If it’s not already in place. Next time I am down there I will see if it’s been installed.

Yetti no problem, no story, but motorhomers? Oh dear oh dear!

Is this the one down near an old lighthouse structure? we was there october 2022 and noticed a lot of people go down to eat takeaways in there cars as kfc and maccies is round the corner. We parked up on the side road next to the brick cob building thing as it was blowing a gale up on the car park.
