Driving across the Severn bridge today and I got to thinking,
Janet and I used to stop for the night on the banks of the Severn somewhere near the old toll booth,
Isle of sheppey and also ash down forest
Also reminded me of meets we have been to that don’t happen anymore!
Morgan the moon used to run a cracking meet in Caerphilly and then also the 1940s weekend in reepham( Norfolk) ran by fulltimer ,
New years at the station inn ribblehead and also glebe farm in congleton with splitty doing his set ,
fond memories thanks to everyone that took part

I was to late on the scene to have been to the bothy on shap but every time I drive over the A6 shap fell I get to wondering what that was like in the early days of WILD CAMPING

Haydn ran superb meets. Our first one was in a field behind a pub, somewhere down the road from Lydney. A great introduction to WC.

Our first meet was ribblehead station inn, ten years ago! Wow lot of water under the bridge since then

I have certainly noticed a change through the ten years I have owned my van. A massive increase in the sale of big white vans (b&b's) with subsequent rise of intolerance in parking, either for the day or overnight. Hight barriers a nightmare.
I get the feeling you are supposed to drive from your house to a camper park and nothing else!!

We’ve certainly enjoyed many meets over the years, many already mentioned in this thread and others like Brin and Otter Ferry. Hopefully we’ll see one that we feel we can attend this year sometime if we get well enough to be out in the van.
