POI download to Garmin SatNav

OK, here we go with my first request for help.
How do I access my SD micro card in my Nuvi 1490T garmin SatNav?
I've downloaded the Wild Camping POI from the computer OK, but can't access the data when using the SatNav itself.
I'm assuming that the only way to download any data to the unit is via the SD card, but I could be wrong.

Hi Bob,

If its owt like my Garmin 1340 your poi's will be in the extras file in POI folder.

I believe mine sat nav is the 1490 and they are in the extras folder not the poi folder. seems to work although Ive not used it on the go yet!!

Problem Solved

Hello and thanks to all (especially canalsman) who responded to my initial post. Following great advice from you all I now am able to download and view the POI.
