After a quarter of a century working in my job I have 4 weeks left. Ive returned to the fold in wildcamping with a transporter and to treat myself that ive survived the job. I want to do a special first trip. It must be UK for now. As I know you guys have travelled the land far and wide is there a place/route that if you had one route to travel you would recommend. I do love Scotland and did get around in the motorhome but not as much as I should have due to work. So a bit of advice where to go on my first trip.

Hold to may, then big treat would be n ireland and maybe donegal, lots to see and do in a short space, boat ticket price puts folk off. :(

Eastern Scotland is good anytime, but best in the midge season, otherwise anywhere on the western side, avoid the NC500, it's all good. Once over the border, Dumfries and Galloway is great as well, a lot depends on what you like to do and the time you're going.

Some great advice here. Ive noted them down and ill check them out. I cant wait. Worked since i was 16 and only a few weeks to go. I could have put the money in the bank but sod that, lifes for living and im going to travel....a lot! But i lost my wildcamping sticker i had on the motorhome. Damm.

A lot of votes for Scotland and Ireland - which I can't argue with! Some alternatives.

Last year we visited Liverpool - highly recommended, and then across to the North East mainly centred around Yorkshire. We had National Trust membership so this was the focus of our four week trip.

In 2023 we were in Wales for four weeks. We bought CADW membership at the start and visited a lot of their sites.

I avoid Devon, Cornwall and the lake district because the world and his wife are there.
Powys is a great county as it let's you use the car parks. You can travel from Brecon to Chester, through lovely countryside.
My other favourite is the north Norfolk coast.
