Patio gas, green bottles

LPG is what is used in motorhomes. Take some advice, never use any kind of gas other than LPG, Liquid Petroleum Gas or Propane all the same stuff. Patio gas is a mixture of propane and butane this is a big NO NO! butane has a different calorific value to propane and running equipment not designed for this is DANGEROUS! That said there are several ways to cut the cost of LPG/propane. the easiest way is buy bottles from an agent like Calor ask for the industrial fitting not the leisure fitting bottles, as they are cheaper due to the tax rate on the gas! Next get the largest size bottle you can store larger volume works out cheaper in the long run. There is a way of filling smaller bottles from a larger one, but this is not for the novice and ultimately not worth the risk of death. However that said by far the cheapest way of buying is to have a fixed LPG tank under the vehicle and to fill from service stations on the road, and fill up yourself. Just like diesel fuel. It is a slightly different nozzle and filling procedure, but once you have been shown it is easy. I have one of these systems and a bottle so that I have a back up, and I can take the BBQ and bottle down to the beach. This hook up method is called "Extend a stay" I'm pretty sure I have posted all about this before on here somewhere.

I was trying to think of a nice way to explain what was wrong in the post including if he has a bulk tank he is using a mixture himself but 'nonsense' sums it up good enough for me:dog:
