I will be going to the Motorbike Show later this month at the NEC and was wondering what the facilities for motorhome parking are for the day but not wildcamping overnight. They do accomodate for motorhomes during Motorhome show but other shows could be different. Bassically I just want to park up my 7.3M motorhome whilst I pop in for the day.
Any help appreciated

It would be handy to know what the overnight possibilities are also.

Hi there,

Parking at the NEC is not a problem at all, the car parks are HUGE !

Whenever we go i make sure we arrive early and " Choose My Own Space " .

That gives you time to have a brew etc. before you go in.

You can nip back to the van at lunch time, that saves you having to carry
your packed lunch etc. with you whilst looking round.

My van is a little bigger than yours and i take 2 spaces 1 infront of the other
and the attendants never say anything.

I always choose the end of a run then it`s easy to get out because there is
always 1 " Numpty " that will block you in.

If your " Show Ticket " says " Parking Included " or words to that effect then
it`s free, just show your ticket on the way out, they lift the barrier and away
you go.

If Parking isn`t included then it is £8 payable at the gate on the way out.

Overnight Camping is not allowed on any of the car parks.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Graham.

I`ve just had a quick look on the NEC website at the " Motorcycle Live " page

and it says parking is " £10 All Day " so i presume it`s not included.

If you " Pre-Book " the parking it comes down to £9.

It`s something to take into account because an extra " £10 " can be a

unpleasant surprise !

Don't always assume you can nip back for lunch to the van quickly. Sometimes the car park they direct you to can be a long way from the venue depending on what shows are on. It can be 20 mins walk or wait for one of the internal courtesy buses.

Thanks for feed back, seems Graham has nailed it for me.
As long as I can park on end of a row as he says and the attendants are ok with vehicle size.
Cheers

We will be going as well, we will park in a layby near Clent on the way down (about half hour away) our van is 7.4 mts. We can park in the disabled car park with my blue badge which is closer to the show. Last time we went in the van we came out & had something to eat, by the time we left the barriers were up & there was nobody to collect the parking (we had paid for the parking). This time might chance it & just wait an hour or so after the show to let the traffic clear.
Think the parking charge is a rip off, it's free for motorcycles. It wouldn't be too bad if it was in the summer & you could get there on a motorcycle but don't fancy a ride of about 90 miles each way this time of year.
