Hi Guys and Gals hope you are having some good m/h adventures.

I am contemplating painting my acrylic washbasin sink as it has yellowed and has a couple of repairs has anyone any experience of this, good and or bad !!!
I would prefer a spay finish. Names of paint used and process would be good.

Thanks Rickboy

The Basics of Spray Painting :: BMC

this may help, model painting, for technique maybe, and google throws up load of paints.

being a sink though I would guess its probably easier and cheaper in the long run to nuy a new sink. only my thoughts though

Thanks for that, just goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks.A few good tips there.
A new sink is a crazy £167 !!! Hence my choice to refurbish.
Most of the paints seem to be made of acrylic as used my artists and decorators rather than to paint acrylic.
Performix HCF (from the USA) by Plastidrip has been mentioned to me but not by someone who has used it.

Further suggestions please.

Thanks Rickboy

Acrylic Paint

Hi, I'm re-furbing an old Hymer and have same prob as you but want to change the colour as well. Been in touch with a company in Plymouth called 'Mend A Bath' who specialise in paint for resurfacing enamel, acrylic and plastic baths etc. (also works on swimming pools). It's called Mr Tubby and comes in two different sizes and various colours. I just paid about £56 for the large size which should do my shower base and vanity basin. hoping to do it in the next week or so will post again to let you know what its turned out like. Type Mr Tubby or Tubby DIY into google.
Hope this helps, Gail
