Overnight nr Donnington M1

Travelling up to York overweekend looking for wildcamping location nr M1/M42 junction. Last year stpped at Donnington services overnight and received bill in post for £45 ! anyone know good location?

Hi,

Don't know if I'm too late with this, but there are laybys each side of the A453 between Donnington services and M1, jcn 24.
These are usually well used by trucks, so would normally be quite noisy, although over Easter weekend they might be less so.
An alternative would be to check this website for Leicestershire. There is only one currently shown under Loughbro and this is about 5/6 miles from M1 jcn 24, on the A6. That ought to be quieter, although it is slightly out of your way.
