Overnight in HALIFAX

A belated Happy & Healthy New Year to one and all ! Hope you're all keeping your heads above water !!!

We're off to Halifax(Yorks) for a few days pretty soon and looking for an overnight stop.
Anyone got any ideas ? We need to be reasonably central.

We were there last week performing our New Year mummers play with The Long Company. I can recommend it. Dave and Glenn are very welcoming and they have a great selection of bottled Belgian beers as well as some nice hand pumped ales.

There's also a quiet car park opposite The Moorcock on Norland Moor above Sowerby Bridge.

We had a great night at Smithy House, Ogden Lane, Causeway Foot, Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX2 8XZ. It's a C and CC certified site but very cheap, nice people and great location near Ogden water. Plus there's a great pub virtually on site. Electric if you need it and some sanitation.

Hi, Thanks for info. Yes I checked POI and found Sowerby...but ideally we'd like to be a bit nearer as we're seeing friends in Halifax and don't want to drive afterwards (hic hic !!)
However thanks to everyone who suggested Sowerby....if all else fails we'll head off there !
