The missus is wanting to go to the outer hebrides. As usual I want to wild, she wants camp sites. We know who will win out! Anyway, any places to camp both wild and campsites on Skye Lewis and Harris, what are they like to drive on. places to visit. Any advice really. We have a 6 mtr motorhome and its only a foot wider than a panel van so its not huge.

Harris and Lewis a truly wonderful places. Skye is best just driven through to catch the ferry from Uig to Tarbert on Harris. Maybe spend the night at Staffin and get the ferry in the morning driving over the hill. Nice wee site at Horgabost on Harris not far from Luskintyre beach. Check out the North Harris Trust website for info on places to overnight.

Go up every year, plenty of Wildcamping, head for the beaches. We do stay on some Campsites as we are friends of the owners. Going to go back to Huisinis this year, not been for 30 years so may have changed!!
We usually just drive through Skye so cannot help much, but we also go to the Uists, plenty of Wilding spots there.
Lots of Wilding spots on Lewis, chemical emptying point at the Braigh outside Stornaway on the road to Point. Think Harris has some overnight stops which are regulated by the Harris Trust, so you may need to pay.

Please be considerate about where you empty
your toilet as there has been problems in the past, most public toilets are on septic tanks, and a few have been knackered by inconsiderate emptiying.
