Ouma Rusks

Finally, I found out what Ouma Rusks are: these are 'boterkoekjes' you dip in coffee ! Ouma did not invent them; she knew them from the netherlands, where she (or her ancestors) probably came from.
Ouma: ou(w)ma= old ma. South Africa and Holland and Flanders have more in common than you can think of.
My favourite wine is 'Kaapse Pracht' delicious

Aaaahhh .... for sunny days and dry veld and Ouma Rusks dipped in Koffiehuis coffee! I now live in sunny Scotland where its rude to dip things in your drink! We will be going to Arisaig this weekend and looking for stop-over places
