"It is understood another vehicle may have been towing the campervan at the time of the accident."
Wonder what was going on there.

Sure looks like a tow strap !

Towing a MoHo would be interesting using a Kia Sorrento, but no preoblem for a Hilux.

But if it was being towed why was the driver of the motorhome arrested and charged??
If being towed whilst behind the wheel, 'dangerous driving'/driving unsafe vehicle/driving with no insurance [not recognised towing device]? And perhaps several other driving offences of a more obscure type?

My Hilux is rated to tow 3.5t so although I bet it would manage to tow the MH, it would not be legal to do so.

But if the Hilux was towing it, how come the MH hit the front of the Hilux.

There is mention of "another vehicle towing" perhaps after the tow atop snapped, he scarpered knowing it was not a legal tow?

EDIT: Ignore all that, the above post explaining it all was posted while I was typing.

Happened to me in Cornwall on main A30 I was turning right in dedicated lane off main road when a French tourist coming in opposite direction on main road suddenly Thought he was on the wrong carriageway and passed me on my near side and hit an oncoming car head on,luckily all survived but brings home what complacency and a sudden loss of concentration can do especially if you spend your life driving on the wrong side of the road, I blame Napoleon.
