Each State will provide travel literature relevant in the main only to their state. Bit of a pain if seeking info about a neighbouring state.

Not all states produce the guides.
MAJOR STATE INFO CENTRES
Major Interstate highway entry points have an information centre - but opening hours is limited to usually 8am to 5pm.
No access outside these hours has been a torment, so you need to have strong planning in place, or have the go with the flow approach.
Annoyingly not many leave State Maps or Campsite advice outside so you need to plan your timing to suit or wait till morning.
Some have limited information with at times none of areas or towns greater than 100miles away from them, others are awash with literature.
Buildings are architecturally often reflective of the major history in the state. A few are just a self-help shop with rest rooms.
Overnight parking is not always permitted but as is often found ignored by many, especially truckers and larger RV caravan 5 wheelers.
CITY / TOWN OFFICES
Within cities and large towns travel information provision is a minefield to find or search for with different terminology used to identify them and often very poor signage to easily locate them.
Typical language identifiers are:
WELCOME ( Centre / Office / ....... )

INFORMATION
TRAVEL
COMMERCE
TOURISM
Often bright blue signs indicate a centre, when on a major interstate or state road, that one is nearby, but can be over 10 miles away. Local towns can then change sign colour to brown, dark blue or purple.
With the myriad of signs shown at a junction, spotting the correct one is a challenge.
Some town and city offices have signs that are placed facing the road, so you cannot spot them until your adjacent to the entrance or path leading to the office. Leaving little chance to prepare a parking manoeuvre.
EVEN major cities have detrimental opening hours, 9am to 2pm is often experiences, as well as possibly not open Mondays, or another day, as some are volunteer dependant.
It really is a Hit or Miss experience.
