Does anyone know if the bays at the Tesco store will take a 6.4m van? It's bookable on Your Parking Space but has their standard "suitable for large 4x4" descriptor . Reviews are good but don't address my question. I'd prefer knowledge to opinion in this case as my finger is poised to book !!!
Or easy alternatives?

It's many years since I was there (to shop, not for overnight), and my recollection is that it was very busy and I was unable to find anywhere to park. Have you looked at Google Maps satellite view? I can see no individual marked space that would be suitable (nowhere for an overhang) - it would almost certainly be a case of occupying two spaces. I eventually shopped at Lidl, but parking there is limited to 3 hours; I don't know whether there's any restriction on parking outside store opening hours.

Go to Ganavan beach. Always lots of vans there. Nicer than a Tesco car park.
Is that Ganavan Sands Car Park? Pay & Display 0900-1800 (Sun 1300-1800) and no use of vehicles as sleeping accommodation, no residential use of vehicles?

That’s the one👍. Always lots of vans overnight there. Not sure if the sign is enforceable. A large motorhome fell of the side of the slipway a while ago. Handbrake failed apparently 😂😂😂 more like the nut on the end of the handbrake😏

Thanks but too late. We're already in the extra long bays in the Tesco car park. (maybe Ganavan beach next time). Actually suits us well for a simple overnight before the ferry. Easy walking distance to the town. Seems quiet.
