There's a Unimog dealer near to us (not campers) but I reckon they're only suitable for proper expeditions really. I wouldn't fancy a long motorway trip in one.

All too big to do much exploring in Europe, even some of the smaller roads will be a no no, and you can pretty much forget most of the tracks, which is pretty much the point of having an off road style thing.
Also, when stuck, and if you venture from tarmac, the chances are you'll get stuck one day, these big beasts take a lot of recovery.
They would have an advantage for river crossing though, having a massive fording depth compared to most, and tracks that have been heavily used by tractors where big tyres rule.
Iveco Daily would be the biggest I'd want to go, 10 tonne Atego sized 4x4 truck max.
