Ferry booked for dec 28th not sure where to go not planning going too far from calis anybodyelse crossing over ? where should we go ? paris de la plage maybe ? good or bad please let us know

many thanks mark & di

If you don't want to travel far from Calais, Bruges might be an option worth considering, particularly around New Year. Otherwise trundle through the Somme if you are into history. If you head south into Normandy avoid the toll roads and meander through the villages - good wilding possibilities abound although many villages offer water, grey water dumps and even hook-ups. If you have not booked a return ticket on the ferry, check out the Dieppe - Newhaven run (LDlines). It will save you backtracking and is very cheap.

i should be over there weather permitting and the forecast looks better every day.No plan, but Bruge ,Amsterdam/Holland are on the list so T&S i know you have just come back so a pm of handy tips and places to go would be appreciated
Rob

In Hawkshead, never thought of that for an overnighter but can see the attraction very busy in the summer months.Andy;)

When we stayed at HAWKSHEAD we stayed in the big public car park in the bottom corner we were one of 4 campervans that year with no problems staying at all although car park did say no overnight parking NEW YEAR here was brill all little pubs had real log fires all 11 50pm everyone leaves the pubs & heads for the square fireworks at midnight then all back to the clean pubs 10 out of 10
