If casting to the TV from your iPad is difficult you can buy an adaptor and use an HDMI leadAnother vote for the Avtex though we tend to go round charity shops and buy a couple of dvds to watch in the van but at home we have sky so we watch sky go on the iPad if we can’t find anything else on the I just wish I could find a way to hook up my iPad to the tv with a bigger screen.
Tesco SIM is working ok for me right now . Also bought an e-sim , which covers all of Europe , just in case . It is handy for football if I watch it legally (not on fire stick) as I have to be on foreign SIM . VPN doesn't workI think thats why. It was a new thing a couple of years ago I think. 5gb. It makes no odds really, 15gb would be useless to us anyway so we have to get a foreign Sim. Not sure what we will do next year as we will likely do several countries. Reglo still might be the way to go as it still offers 32gb outside of France which between us might be enough if we are careful.

I never got the impression you were a rugby person, Ken!different strokes etc i live in a park home and spend approximately 7 months of the year away so dont have a broadband account and use data sims at home & take them away in the van with me, [ not a big tv watcher but jan likes her soaps i like watching rugby , l do have a firestick linked to my tesco sim giving me 100gb of data when travelling just returned from 8 weeks in portugal average use has been 18gb with no restriction , l also have a 13’i pad pro with an iptv player with an account allowing me to watch anything big enough screen for me that uses the same data package an english sim so no pvn needed,
Not all the tv's have a sat input, a quick glance and could only see the 43" tv having one.
Yeah , as said before , tries to bump up usage at home . Second SIM , to me , doesn't have to be too expensive but gives you back upI haven't looked recently but seem to remember there was a fair use policy on Tescos roaming and you had to be using it more in the UK than abroad so I Dont think I could just get a sim before I go and then hammer it for three months in Europe. They also have a 2 month limit I believe. Having said that so do Talk Mobile but ours worked for the entire three months we were away. However we hardly ever used them.
Needs to be 16" with a satellite connection. This Cello also fits the bill but its quite chunky but it does state "Freesat". Some quality control issues in the reviews. I wonder how old it is as it has a DVD player!
Think I'd go for the 16" Smart version Barry if I was looking for one, no DVD and cheaper;
It’s chunky because of the speakers Barry, hence the pitch perfect sound.Needs to be 16" with a satellite connection. This Cello also fits the bill but its quite chunky but it does state "Freesat". Some quality control issues in the reviews. I wonder how old it is as it has a DVD player!
I'd never not have a smart TV now.Think I'd go for the 16" Smart version Barry if I was looking for one, no DVD and cheaper;
Or use a firestick on a standard tv Rob.Think I'd go for the 16" Smart version Barry if I was looking for one, no DVD and cheaper;
I bought the van about 6 months ago std omni aerial no signal so fitted a vision plus aerial works great unless I am in a Forrest. I use a firestick full of access to loads of free TV MOVIES and SERIES. I also use a Raspberry Pi with Liberelec and a 4TB hard drive full of movies music and series episodes. I just bought a new Avtex 24 inch smart tv as Avtex are one of the few that have an LG 1080p screen which is very good. So as much as I don’t watch much TV if the weather is rubbish at some time I can watch something at least. I use VPN Private Internet Access for securityOur ancient Akura TV is starting to play up on the power socket and I hate the Satellite tuner that came with this van. I would actually like to bin it off and the dish completely to make way for a solar farm but that isn't happening. Yet.
I want to do away with the free sat box and just get something like this with it built in. As its also a smart TV I Reckon I can hook it up to our hotspots or stick a Firestick it with a VPN and just use it that when away as well, especially out of the UK. However for live TV with the dish I think I need it to have a “Satellite In” or “DVB-S2” type connection. I think this one does.

Any thoughts? These are the pics of our set up. Basically one LNB in cable coming from the socket in the rear lounge to the Free sat box. This is the one that needs to go in the back of the new TV. The white box in the wardrobe turns the dish on and off and allows you to select satellites and the black box just powers it all and connects to the dish. Ignore the vision plus box, its an old TV signal amplifier. Not used.
