New Search for sites problems

Searchforsites seems to have been updated and the new system has some peculiarities

If wont work in 'landscape' mode only 'portrait', which is OK for my phone and tablet, but useless for the screen in the van

Also the link to Sygic and Magic Earth is broken. Every site in just off the coast of Africa.

The copy and paste of the Latitude & Longitude doesn't work either.
This is all on the Android version, I don't have any IOS devices

Has anyone else found these problems?

The web page version is unchanged.

They clearly have updated the app as it has logged me out and does not even remember my details so now I have to go and find my password book and log in again before I can even comment if the app version has changed or not. I would be mighty peed off if that had happened mid trip and my password book was not with me.

I normally use the on line web version when planning a trip and only use the app if I need to look up something on the go.

Ah .... I've recently had to do a factory reset of my phone (don't ask). I thought my probs with logging into SFS was to do with that. Obviously not.

I wondered if something was up the other night when it just wasn't working at all. I only use the web version though on a laptop and its just the same. I hope they don't break that one as well.

Use omsandroid or organic maps which can be got of f-droid which is a pure android apt free from google spyware.

I just use our own WC Locations app, never had a problem and the info is better than I've found on sfs or p4n.

SFS and P4 sites are reviewed up to their wazoos . Yes you have to read between the lines but I've never seen this level of information anywhere else

I use both, some sites on WC are nowhere else, and vice versa.

I got around to looking up my password and logging in. It then said I am a new user and it had to download all the site information which took about half an hour. It must be a new version of the app to need that?

I can't immediately see anything different, except the random few sites I checked, every review is now shown twice.

Ditto. Exactly.
Except for reasons I can't now recall it finished downloading all the stuff a second time.

SFS has been easily the most useful app for us over the past few years, excellent info and relevant reviews. I never use the website, no point when it's all easily found on the app. However, for the past few weeks it has been a pain in the @rse. I got fed up with having to update numerous times when in France, using up precious data. It's still not right, despite being promised that the developers have released updates to fix it.

Had to go through the whole sign in, download rigmarole AGAIN this morning. And I swear it keeps changing it's mind about my user name. (Or I'm getting forgetful .... surely not).

I checked mine again today on the phone. It is messed up somewhat, not ALL sites are showing, e.g. the Plockton airstrip stopover is not showing on the app. We stayed there for a night on our last trip. It still shows on the website version, but not the phone app. And it is on the Location app here.
