I was looking at purchasing an HP OfficeJet 8610 E-AIO printer for £149 and whilst searching noticed the same printer for £29 after cash back offers and a free 3 year warranty from HP. Set it up earlier today and what a beauty she is. Printing is excellent quality and I have tried it from both my laptop and Ipad and it works a treat. Instant ink plan from HP only £1.99 per month. My old Epson was costing me more than this to run. This is really an office printer and over the top for my needs, but at £29 its a no brainer for me. Let me know if you're in the market for a new printer and I'll send you the link

how many copies do you get for £1.99 a month and is it an agreement for one year or more or the life of the printer ?

thanks for posting this....

good stuff as hp are the only open source priner<not tied to ms windows> that works out of the box with linux requiring no drivers as there already in our packages.:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

This might be worth looking at but I need to do some sums. Just looked at the admin page for our printer - we've done 16,500 pages on it in around 5 years.

its some years since we had an inkjet printer

got that pissed off with blocked jets , if you dont use it, replacing cartridges every 5 mins if you do use it.

we got a thrown away hp mono lazer , never hadany trouble with it ,

eventually we went to a samsung mono and a dell colour laser.... modern home office ones are smaller and quiter the the old industrial office machines.

check whats being sold on ebay and amazon at affordable prices then check the replacement toner prices.

theres no way wed go back to inkjet.

You must have been unlucky. I've used Epson inkjet printers for the last 20 years with no trouble whatsoever and always used Jet Tec compatible cartridges which have more ink and cost a third of the price of genuine Epson cartridges. It all depends on how much you print. I'm only an occasional printer so a laser printer would be way over the top for me.

I recently bought an HP printer from John Lewis Southampton ,HP 2540 series deskjet , white wireless , it was £34 it does all I need I am still using the ink cartridges that it came with, I could have taken up the HP ink offer but I don't do that much printing so passed on that , it is not the same printer that you are talking about but it is a great bit of kit.We buy most of or appliances from John Lewis as they are best on price and service I recently bought a Vacuum cleaner from them 5 year warranty free, and use their click and collect service and collected it from our local Waitrose store.I could have had it delivered free but as we are out so much it was easier to collect as we did. We have a local ink cartridge refilling outlet very good but we tend to buy our cartridges from Asda , often their own brand and are very happy with them, and they are cheap enough.
