New and racing 2 go...

Hi all....
Did a recent 11 night trip in our import Toyota Hiace Slwb to Northumberland. Whilst up that end (I'm from Notts) popped over to Scotland and did my first wild camp a few yards away from the sand n sea and a fab bay view at North Berwick... Mint!! Right up my street. Loved everything about it other than the wife not feeling settled for the first few hours (she still ain't convinced, but the dogs said they were happy to do more, if there near a beach! lol!!) To be precise, I've wild camped once before ,but that was back-packing, camped in a forest, sleeping in a hammock between 2 trees... Never thought about doing it in my vehicle! Doh!! Far too used to giving folks 25 quid a night for a bucket of H20 and a patch of grass... lol! Anyhows, the night in Bonny Berwick set me off into looking into wild camping anywhere and everywhere which has brought me to this forum... Lots of reading to do and this site seems a great place of knowledge... Thumbs up!!
Heres a couple of pics... 1st of my camper which we bought to do up last November and the second is of the view from my camper on our first wild camp... Think the bus will serve us well after putting up with roughing it in the back of Mitsubishi Delica's for the past 6 years... Winter camps should deffo be more forgiving in this too, more so the 'wild' ones!!

hi and wecome ,i am about to convert a seat alhambra into a oveniter plenty of room for us two

Hi and welcome. Nice pics. We are having a meet up in your neck of the woods in October, if you would care to join us.

Cheers for the welcomes... Being fair I loved my Deli's having both a Mk1 L300 and Mk2 L400 with my fav being the go anywhere rugged L300. Quite roomy in both for a 'day' van. Saying that we did once spend 16 nights in Norfolk in one of them and managed well enough. Just wanted something similar to use as an every day vehicle, but with more internal space and more camper biased..., aka the import Hiace.
Mandrake, have you a particular reason for using the Seat as a base vehicle for converting? Deffo be a 'stealth' camper which is cool...
Funky farmer, thanks for the early invite. I have briefly seen the thread for that meet and am in discussions with the wife (cough, boss) on wether she can have that weekend off... I'm self-employed and have asked myself for permission to attend and I said yes do as I like.... :D
