This posted on FB earlier today from CAMpRA:-

"CAMpRA was asked by the BBC to comment on the new Aire in Cleethorpes. This was our response:

CAMpRA are very pleased to see this new facility being approved and our 40,000 members are looking forward to it opening.

We are pleased that Cleethorpes Council involved CAMpRA at the outset and have listened to our recommendations.
This will put Cleethorpes on the map as a forward thinking council providing what we believe to be England’s first dedicated motorhome Aire.

Let's hope that other LIncolnshire councils can see the way forward to open similar sites, even if its out of the main season.
The only other one that we are aware of is part of Canterbury P&R site.

Many members do find it strange that the site will not be available over the winter period when campsites are closed, local business are struggling but motorhomes are still touring. But we need to give it time and maybe that decision will be reviewed once open.

As it is not a campsite , and motorcaravans will simply be parked, it would be relatively easy to close or evacuate the site in the events of a potential flood risk."
