As the title says my small dog (crossed cairn pug) ocasionaly suffers from travel sickness . she is'nt keen on travelling but I am planning France this year what does anybody out there have a similar problem and what can I do to help her

Mine hates being in the van full stop. Had a tyre blowout on the motorway a couple of years ago and it scared her badly. She trembles every time the engine starts. I got her an adaptil collar and Also give her serene-um tablets. Between the two it seems to work. Both available from Amazon. Tablets state the help with travel sickness

We are the same with our 6 month old and we got a 1200 mile trip to salou next week so we will not be feeding her and hoping she will eventually grow out of it

Try sitting in the van with her (without starting the engine or driving). Give her encouragement and treats. As she improves, feed her in the van. The idea being that she associates the van with good things not negative things.

Then you can take her on short trips ...... ideally with her securely fastened up front so she can see out. It is surprisingly noisy in the back of motorhomes when compared to the cab area.

Our two like to be in the cab area, it's the only place safe from the flying cutlery drawer! We once forgot to lock it and they've never forgotten!

The sickness could be from fear, or just motion sickness. As others have said, adaptil, Thundershirts and non- threatening exposure done gently and slowly will help.

Our Welsh terrier gets very anxious when travelling in the van,she is fine in the car but pants terribly when in the motorhome. We have bought a thundershirt for her recently but haven't had opportunity to try it yet.I am hopeful as the reviews are good,we shall see.

Here she is modelling the thundershirt............ thundershirt 1.jpgthundershirt2.jpgthundershirt3.jpg
