My 600w inverter has died in that nothing reaches the socket - all three fuses are ok and the fault light stays out.

A replacement would be primarily used to power my 400 watt Remoska cooker but also perhaps to recharge my Ebike. Have a new 135ah battery plus a 100w folding solar panel. What would be a suitable replacement? Please don't get too technical.

First thing is to make sure your current inverter is really dead.

You say 3 fuses. Does this include the fuse in the cigar plug; the 240v plug on the appliance; the one in the inverter and the one on the BCU?
Have you plugged something else in the 12v socket?
Have you tried more than one appliance ?

It was connected directly to the battery as per instructions with heavy duty cables provided. The three 25amp fuses appear to protect it from the battery as the on light disappears if any one is removed. Have tried more than one appliance.

Has it worked previously powering the Ramoska? powering a 400w appliance from a 135Ah battery is not ideal.

IMHO High powered inverters are "The Devils work !"
Unless you have lithium or at least 2 batteries AND only use whilst driving...
I have used a 150watt inverter whilst stood on a sunny day (120watt solar Panel) but beware
600 watts could draw 50 amps ( 12V x 50 amps = 600 watts )
I note the OP says they have suitable cables etc

Previously managed to cook a meal using the old 80ah battery from a scrap van. The leisure battery is mainly to power a couple of led lights and occasionally a 12v tv that plugs into a cigar type socket.
Will probably forget the idea of an inverter and only use the Remoska when on hook up at camp sites.

Don't give up, there is surely a replacement somewhere, what make and model is yours?

Kind regards,
Del

Try the inverter on another battery or the starter battery with the engine running. I have a very cheap 1KW inverter and that won't start up on my 85AH battery but works correctly on the starter battery with the engine running. The inverter was cheap, it does take a lot of current, but it was £1 brand new at a car boot sale !
