But cant beat Brass band and mil band playing the classics. Vienna always vienna, Elephant march, Anything ny Ord Hume etc

Meant to say my altime fav is Bells across the meadow played by full orchestra. I had this played at my first 4 weddings and gonna have it at my funeral befpore last post.

Don't have a favourite. I like most music. Kind of draw the line at X-Factor divas, club, pretty-boy bands, hip-hop and happy hardcore - though there's even bits of that stuff that I'll listen to.

Big likes, though... The Beatles, The Smiths, REM, NIN, Eels, Gary Numan, Rachmaninov, blues, early Neil Diamond, U2, Neil Young, Johnny Cash, Bruce... :rockroll:

Confused here, played at your first 4 weddings?? might be good music but not very lucky methinks LOL, my music is Country, good mix of this too.

Dance, trance, electro etc. JMJ/Oldfield electronic or classical. I prefer stuff without lyrics.

Simple ecomomics old chap. You havent got all the same white goods as when you first set up home have you? Do you keep the same car all your life?:D:lol-053::danger:

Heavy rock, Rammstein, Black Sabbath,Metalica, anything as long as it is loud and heavy.

Perhaps that's why I suffer from tinnitus.

John.

Muse is far and away my favourite but I like all sorts of stuff. Rock first and foremost but anything good - classical, ballet, opera, death metal, Sinatra, Captain Beefheart - you name it and I probably like at least one example. Struggle with rap and suchlike though.

Country Musik and Oldies. Favourites are George Jones, George Strait, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Alison Kraus, Pam Tillis and many others. I like singers like Jennifer Rush, Celine Dion, in that kind of style. A bit old fashioned, but that is what I called singing and not the noise and racket they make in this day and age. Rap, is not singing, it is talking in a poetery fashion. I admit I do like Queen who are a Rock group. Of course, I respect others who have their favourites and their tastes. I have a total of 526 CD's with roughly 11500 songs, (Country, Oldies and Pop) in my collection.

Yes, interesting that you say "different things in different places" because I'm very much like that. Also of course, taste can vary with mood and the company you're in.

So we wandered across the US accompanied by some good ol' country music but I relax with my MP3 (so 'er indoors doesn't have to suffer it too) to opera. I love jazz, instrumental and vocal; the voice of Madeleine Peyroux for instance makes me go weak at the knees! Being a '60s teenager I still like to reminisce a bit to Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Procul Harum and all those other 'greats' that drove our parents potty.

On the whole I'll try anything once and if I like it, great, if not, well, nothing lost.

Different music for different moods, different places, different activities...wide range of likes

In no particular order, just as they occur to me sitting here: Adele, Lady Gaga, Black Sabbath, Neil Diamond, Paul Simon (with and without Art), John William, REM, Fairport Convention, Maddy Prior, Plain White Ts, Beethoven, Fleetwood Mac, Beatles, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Creedence Clearwater Revival, ZZ Top, Alanis Morrissette, Anastacia, Queen, Barclay James Harvest, Leonard Cohen, Blur, Oasis, Bon Jovi, Catatonia...I'll stop here. I have my media player open and started running down the list and picking out the big likes and I am only up to 'C'.

There are lots of great artistes out there.
