municipal camp sites in france

We used the Camping Municipal when tent camping many years ago. Some are attached to sports fields and most are in or near Villages / Towns. Basic camping with toilets. Some better than others. Not that expensive.

All the municipal sites that we have stayed on have been excellent, and very well cared for.

some are cheaper to use than aires in the same town . and you get more space usually.

In general, how much do municipal sites cost vs aires?

Can you get EHU at municipal sites too?

James

have paid as little as 5 euro. on a municipal site . some dont have ehu .but some aires dont either . or are being used . all swings and roundabouts . i was in a bongo camper so not huge . have never needed ehu. mind i prefer the free aires

We've just returned from brittany and 6 nights were spent on different. Municipal sights ,what we did was look at the aire first and if it was busy we would re route to the municipal camp site rather than drive on to the next local aire average cost was 14 euros with electric .our cheapest was 10 euros I have an ASCII card which we didn't use as the sights all to big and commercial but the municipal s were very quiet and will defiantly plan to use more

Municipal sites are often overlooked, I used them extensively pre motorhome when I did France a few time on the motorcycle.

Basic facilities, but clean possibly a jeton for a shower..(given as part of the evenings tarrif) but do what they say on the box.

I met an Algerian Pearl diver en route to Barcelona, he had a Honda trail bike and his arse was sore after 50 miles of riding,,,,,,,so we hatched the plan plenty of pastis etc may provide anaesthetic for such troubles...no idea if it worked after we parted company....he was probably apologising to Ala and I didnt give a foobar.

Try booking that in Thomas Cook
