MTH Refillable gas cylinders

I have for sale, two MTH refillable gas cylinders for £100 for the pair. I am selling as a pair as there is only one filling connector. If you have your own connector then I would be prepared to split and sell you one cyclinder. Yes, for £50!!

Reason for selling .... I've finally converted the van to have a full Gas-It system with a filler on the outside of the van.

ABSOLUTELY Legal .......
If you look closely at the picture you will see that it says "Fill to this line".

Bought empty as refillable cylinders from MTH. They are made from high strength glass fibre which you can see through (although best using a torch from the back to see the level).
There are even marks going up the bottle telling you how much to fill.

Note, these do not have the 80% cut off so you have to keep an eye on what is going in rather than just keeping your finger on the button!

Yes, the biggest problem is convincing your local garage that they are legal, but legal they are. Once you have found a place that will allow you to fill then it's just like using Calor, only it costs about £7 to fill each bottle rather than £20+ for the Calor.

Each cylinder is:-
200mm dia x 530mm height. Capacity is 10ltrs. I think they equate it to a 6kg.

No problem. Have you tried Gas-It?
If you mention you re off the WildCamping website, they are doing us a good deal. I have just bought a full system from them and dealt with a man called Warren. Very helpful and only sold me what I needed rather than trying to over sell me stuff (I aready have the European filler adaptors so he knocked this off the price for me).

some calor tanks dont have 80%cut outs .they have bleed off valves .that let gas out .when liquid comes out stop filling . calor regularly put up to 95%in my tank in the garden. thats just using the litreage.

That's them not us and not the same as forecourt filling.

MTH autogas seem to be no longer in existence

my calor auto gas tank is just the same .open valve get gas when liquid comes out stop filling .
i have had it awhile. works lovely.

I believe the legal requirement is that there must be an automatic 80% shut off valve. A visual window doesn't cut it with calor/autogas etal

The HSE will screw you and the garage if found to be in breach

That's not a legal document, it's a propaganda sheet put out by UKPLG which suprise, suprise is a trade association representing rip-off companies like calor gas who want to charge you 3-4 times the cost of the gas for an exchange cylinder.

The electricity regulations also are not law but the HSE will use them as a reference for prosecution and the same applies to many other regs

you will have to get up a bit more early . you do get thinks wrong quite often.
you cant believe every thing on the web.
its not illegal to fill bottles at the pumps .
just not recomended. many dont want gas it etc being filled up at the pumps .

Gas it and Gaslow comply with internal 80% shut off so not the same thing and they're still in business

Calor have staff that are trained and regarded as competent and are insured for filling their bottles. You are not
