Motorhomes in Porthcawl

Several years back you could overnight on Porthcawl seafront no bother and brilliant position.
This was then abused by motorhomers by staying for months awnings blocking the pavement, tables and chairs on the pavement and tipping their toilets and waste down the storm drains. So the council stopped motorhomes parking overnight.
The idiots spoiled it for everbody, but you ca. Still park there in the day.
Today there are motorhomes parked there chairs out semi blocking the pavement so you can see what's coming next.
 
The problem is that although this forum in the majority acts responsibly there are lots of motorhomers out there who do not and we all get tarred with the same brush.

Maybe we could as a group petition the councils so that WC members displaying a big W get exemption from the bans notices for a 24hr period to see if we can open their eyes to responsible wilding
 
I question the validity of the signs but you can't really argue with the reason for the ban.
Lorries park there overnight.

It is then the likes of us who suffer and they just move on and bugger up somewhere else :mad2:

I look at it a bit differently to you mate.

I reckon they get their overnighting information from forums like this. They can get free access to lots of info and for £20 they get the lot. :eek:

It is only a very small minority who post on this (and every other) forum. We have no idea who the majority are. They could be the scrotes causing the rest of us a hard time ...... sadly, human nature being what it is, you will always get this.

You must remember when the POI's were first put together and offered freely, they all came out of the woodwork to grab a bargain. There was a non stop succession of long term members who had never made one post on here, asking for the POI's. :mad2: They had taken all the info provided by other members and given nothing back in return. They have no welcome pack, therefore no WC sticker and are faceless.

To be quite honest, I have met some really nice members from this forum but in general I regard other wildcampers as potential scrotes until I am convinced otherwise by their behaviour and actions. You would be surprised at how many times that has been the right way to treat them. It is part of the reason why we tend to use a THS more than wilding. The THS sites have a few basic rules and that means we are not surrounded by litter, dog crap and the smell of human faeces and urine.
 
If they are causing an obstruction

Surely
The Police
A special constable
a council official
OR a combination could move them move or confiscate their "clutter" on or even summons them !

I am not pro police interfering but !!!

That would be simple but they don't tackle the individual offenders they just place a blanket ban on every motorhome, it's easier for them.
 
used to be good a bit out of town heading up to was it a castle or hotel. ?
was back in the 80,s last time i was there . used to go surfing there .
well in the sea . not up there on the land . ha ha .
some great places along that coast.

What are these Temporary Holiday Sites? Do you mean Camping & Caravan Club Rallies? I notice most meets appear to be 3 days or so

You need to look again as you have been looking in the wrong place. They are weekend meets.
