What type - I say type instead of breed as there are many lovely mutts out there looking for home, jsut been looking around myself at Blue Cross website as we plan to get another one (we have a collie and a pure mutt). We are thinking collie, jack russel, staffie, lurcher sort of thing-a bit like our Moo!

Our rescue dog, probably a small lurcher came from the dogs trust. She loves travelling and is very much at home in the van.
We have no interest in pedegrees so she is perfect for us.

our dog rua passed away last july.we had her 12 years, she was a rescued irish setter.
she came everywhere in the camper, she loved it.
being a large dog we always looked for places to stop overnight where she could run around.
we still miss her , its not the same without her.

We have a Jack Russell and she always comes with us on our trips in the MH and loves it.

She somehow knows we are planning a trip days before we go, and sits at the window, with ever-increasing excitement, watching us put supplies etc. in van.

As you can see AJ's photographic skills are rubbish...but he's not a bad sort really...

We have 2 Irish setters - normally mad as hatters but in the van .................. they settle and treat it like a second home. I think they like the close contact - it IS close as we only have a MWB Renault Master conversion:) At home they have quite a big house and garden.
As long as they get plenty of exercise they behave like eldery labradors in the van (I don't mean to be derogitary about labradors, they are just a different sort of dog altogether!) and sleep like babies on the front seats at night.
Dogs are excellent company, and of course even the softest natured dogs may act as guard dogs if the van is approached by strangers.
A word of warning, though, however clean & dry we think they are when they come in the dust and hairs always seem to be in evidence however frequently I brush the van out:mad:

And if you run out of food you could always do this to the dog...

We got our Bongo last August & had some great times out & about with our dog Bess, unfortunetly Bess passed away in February this year.
We have been out in the van afew times since but we really did miss having her around. Picked up a puppy last week-end & in 3weeks (after 2nd injection ) she will be joining us on our travels & hubby will once again have a smile on his face.
