Motorhomer

For me it's a time trap. I try to log in here daily and it's not unusual to find hundreds of new posts within all topics so I trawl those of interest, but, I don't have time to do the same on the other site as well so I visit it less.

Aw that's a bit harsh DG
There were heaps of vital reasons why Phil had to start the Motorhomer forum, which he explained at the time but not one of them was to be divisive or encourage cliques... quite the opposite! It's early days yet for Motorhomer, so of course the people who want to be supportive are going to make an extra effort to contribute over there and build up the content to atract new membership. Having the Motorhomer name has already paid dividends by opening up new venues for meets and new discounts with suppliers. It's only by not joining in over there that people are making it look cliquey!

i have thought a lot about whether to respond to this in full or not. This will be my last comment on this thread. My original comments on my own experience on the other forum were my views of my experience on an internet forum. They were not a personal attack on Phil. I have supported Phil since i joined this forum in several ways and will continue to post here as i do and generate traffic as much as i can. i think he does a great job providing brilliant resources for us all.

In 15 years of www forum use this forum is almost the only one i have used in which members generally treat each other with respect and an alternative view is accepted. The great variation in members' opinions on all subjects is what makes this community the interesting one that it is. My opinion on the other forum clearly has caused some prickly responses - we must agree to differ. That is the magic of Wildcamping... we can do that and still carry on......

I’m a wild camper with a van.

I’m a wild camper at heart that was enticed by the dark side and the dark lord won I bought a motorhome so I have a foot in each camp but I tend to follow my heart, fortunately the same great people frequent both sites.

I consider myself as Living a ‘Relatively Free Lifestyle’ doing what has largely been Termed ‘Wild Camping’
In a ‘Motorhome’ that is on a ‘Van’ Chassis!

How confused am I !!.

As far as this other site ‘Motorhomer’ goes, I haven’t visited it & it’s Not for any particular reason other than I Enjoy being on WC, it fills multiple times of my day with Smirks, Smiles, Tuts, Frowns, Fun & Information Wich is All I need to accompany my Coffee & Donuts to bring a good Healthy Balance to my Daily Shuffling in fact, So can’t be Clicking all over the place on multiple sites to catch up with the Latest Posts, My Repetitive Strain Injurie on my Fingers would just have NO time at all to recover !.
As far as Clicks go, Well Maybe there is, Maybe There isn’t I honestly can’t say as I tend Not to go to Big Meets, But I do agree that from an ‘Outsiders’ Perspective Friendships are firmed & Bolsterd by actually spending ‘Time’ together, & if the only Time spent together is at meets then it may ‘Appear’ to be a Click, But of course to the ‘Involved’ it’s ‘Friendship’...

I guess the only real way to get to the bottom of it is to Take the Step to Join in a See for oneself what the lay of the land is, as apposed to make a Judgement from afar.

Ooo look a Biscuit!

I cant get on with the software there, and well aware this site will change with upgrades.

Motorhomer is a bit more mainstream and attracting visitors who perhaps here wouldn't be a fit.

The Motorhomer name seems to be opening doors for gatherings wild camping as always been treated with a little suspicion as wild camping can have negative connotations.

Perhaps it is familiarity of this site why I prefer it, yet I do feel the eclectic mix of eccentricity, characters and diversity make it what it is,

i have just bought baby-newly-growing lettuces from the market garden... i can plant them out and cut the leaves and they will keep on growing... in theory..... NZ you could grow one in a pot and have a leaf every day - one plant should last you till 2019 :cool1::cool1::cool1:
