They're far more tame... more cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut orf than skewered roadkill over an open fire.
orf... it's how the queen says off as in clear orf.

i visit now and then but it seems to contain a lot of duplicate posts from here... and somehow, for me, just personal opinion, MOHO didn't seem to have the "banter" that we used to have here..... i know folks say there are no cliques... but there sure as heck are !!! just saying.... cliques are not always bad .... but when they appear to have become exclusive then its not a good thing

Aw that's a bit harsh DG
There were heaps of vital reasons why Phil had to start the Motorhomer forum, which he explained at the time but not one of them was to be divisive or encourage cliques... quite the opposite! It's early days yet for Motorhomer, so of course the people who want to be supportive are going to make an extra effort to contribute over there and build up the content to atract new membership. Having the Motorhomer name has already paid dividends by opening up new venues for meets and new discounts with suppliers. It's only by not joining in over there that people are making it look cliquey!

Same here Nabs. This will always be 'home' for me after all this time but new members especially will settle down to Motorhomer as it develops :)

I tend more towards this site but I try to call in everyday to motorhomer.
I find that both forums have something to offer, even if there are duel posts on some subjects.

I came here for tips on wild camping and don't own a motorhome so never felt the need to go looking elsewhere.

I don't understand the use of the word cliques?

"a small close-knit group of people who do not readily allow others to join them."

There are many friends on here, and yes a lot of us have met at the meets and know each other quite well, but nobody is discouraged from joining us?

Quite the opposite I have found.

Absolutely DG... I totally respect that and know Motorhomer won't be for everyone. It's just that I feel it diminishes the community spirit when I see negativity about our new forum here of all places. I honestly don't see how it can be considered cliquey when each and every full member of WC has been invited to join as full members of Motorhomer... for free. Of course, no-one is obliged to post there - each to his/her own - but it's a tad off-putting for others to see only negative comments here. I can't help but do a bit of flag waving to redress the balance! [emoji4]

You're a great poster DG... why not pop over there now and then and help cheer things along [emoji847]

I'm not in a clique, don't want to be, I just want to use my van. In company would be good. Unlike being parked up in a layby, I know no one will mess with it when I get my walking boots on.

I joined here because I like 'wild camping'
I consider myself to have a campervan rather than a motorhome...
Hence I've not bothered to join the 'otherside'
I'm also not a lover of organised meets... It's a bit 'caravan club rally' for me to be honest hence me not getting involved in that shizzle.
Each to their own though at the end of the day
