Hi all
Just bought our first camper - 1998 Autohomes Wayfarer on a Peugeot Boxer 1.9TD chassis with 67,000 miles on the clock.
First trip went OK last week, 250 mile round trip to the Peak District, Sherwood Forest and finally Pateley Bridge before back home to Skipton N.Yorks.
I will gratefully accept any help and info from all out there.
Although I have changed the heater plugs, the van still smokes a little too much at first start up, so she's going to a local diesel specialist for compression, valves, injectors and timing to be checked.
The front suspension is also a little noisey over ruts in the road even though I have changed the drop links. Could not change the 'D' rubbers as I could not work out how to get the upper and lower saddles apart?
So the next port of call will be the shocker top mounts and bearings, also ball joints.
We are on a very steep learning curve but looking forward to the freedom of a van and some happy times ahead.
