Motorhome stuck in devon

Its all part of today’s world Rob, we are all travelling film studious now.
But why buy something like that if you cannot read road sings.
Also surely if you are going to drive something like that, you carefully plan your journey. Most campsites could not handle this thing.

I received an email recently Bill from YouTube stating that they were going to enforce rules about not filming people without their permission.

Unfortunately, in my opinion the villagers there and elsewhere can expect more of the same due to the massive rise in new and inexperienced motorhomers.

Problem is rob you dont require permission to film people in public, just look at news reporters, you as like me should be on film as champion beer testers. .

Its a pity we dont have the full story of what was said. If the driver was genuinely abusive then I have no sympathy but I guess we will never know. We all make mistakes so no need for anyone to throw their toys out of the pram. Just laugh it off.

Best one I did was the drive of shame through a village in the south of France. Followed the sat nav down an impossibly steep narrow lane into a village which led me into a pedestrianised street full of stalls and pavement restaurants. The entire lot had to move to let me through as I couldnt go back, impossible. 😬 Locals didnt care and just laughed. The shame though. I still have nightmares about it. :D

I know it’s easy to sit here on a Sunday morning ipad in hand observing someone else’s stupidity. But truth be known I have messed up loads of times. But what makes someone think driving something like that is a good idea in the first place. Seems to me it’s a show piece, look at me, look what I have, my things bigger better than your thing.
In today’s world it’s better to try and be discreet, hence why we have decided to go for a van conversion next time. I mean where can you take something like that, and when you do find somewhere chances are you are going to p—s some people off. I reckon his biggest mistake was not going where he should not have, but buying this thing in the first place.

Good man Barry, well I almost got stuck between two houses in the Lake District, then had to drive the wrong way down a busy road to get out of the mess I got into in the first place. Thankfully I was not filmed and put online.

The thing is Penny I've actually made that same mistake myself. The villagers were actually very patient whilst I got around the bend which had an awkwardly parked Rangerover on it at the time. (it only took a couple of minutes though).

This driver though also threw in a few f's at the locals and apparently was fairly abusive and arrogant.
Stressed and when stressed people don’t behave !

There is a road here going into gleno with two whitewashed houses on either side and a T junchion, i can just about do it but have seen 40 footers stuck, no warnings whatsoever.
First pic below car right, sec pic left opp road sine.

Blimey we are a cruel people, never made a mistake ourselves !!!
Yes we have all made mistakes but on that particular road there are enough warning signs that nothing larger than a mini bus will fit through they even provide a parking area so people can walk up to the village should they wish to visit there is also a turning circle for buses as they don’t fit all of these warnings they chose to ignore unless his wife was sat next to him screaming at him like a banshee and looks like he ignored her too on the video as she is guiding him out her face could curdle custard, so was it a genuine mistake or a chancer that thought he was such a good driver he would get through even the locals that tried to stop him were met with verbal abuse from the driver but probably born out of anger and frustration at his own stupidity.

All on here above mistakes, saints the lot of us.
No meI’ve done it twice headed for a carpark only to find a heaight barrier at the entrance and very little room to turn the van round so had to reverse back to the main road then emailed the council to ask where the sign was warning drivers of large vehicles never been back to check both were in Paignton.
