Motorhome parking Ingleton (Community Centre car park)

New motorhomes cost upwards of £40,000 .....

what has that got to do with anything?

Have Craven suddenly started charging the owners of luxury cars more to park (and there are many no so luxury cars that cost the same as some motorhomes)

If I were to park my motorhome and retire to a nearby B&B could I claim a refund?

Are the mooring fees on the many canal boats variable depending on whether or not they are being slept in?

The answer to all of the above is "NO" therefore you are being charged an extra £3 just because they can

Easily solved..... Park elsewhere... That'll leave space for folks happy to pay the very reasonable price

New motorhomes cost upwards of £40,000 and people complain about being charged £3.00 for the privilege of sleeping in the vehicle. One assumes that car owners are either locals or helping the local economy by staying in rented accommodation or an hotel.
exactly if it is 3. 5 ,or 10 etc we have a choice , No facilities folk argue and seem to have a pre occupation with toilets are they not in the van ? of course the rubbish you leave in bins and enjoying the relaxation not being moved on etc surely has a value

Some simply are that tight fisted they want it for nowt and the facilities ,,,,,like petulant children removed from the real world

Channa

I dont want something for nothing - if I am getting something then I am perfectly content to pay a reasonable amount for it what I object to is being charged for nothing just because "he has an expensive motorhome and can afford it"

As I have said it is unlikely that I will park overnight in skipton car park again - you might not mind being milked but I do

We stayed at skipton 2 weeks ago and was talking to the guy parked next to me who is a regular and he said the council don’t mind you using 2 spaces if the 3 allocated spaces are full and using a £5 ticket as long as you vacate by 9.00am . We found skipton to be a beer drinkers paradise must be over 20 pubs we visited 8 that were dog friendly

Did you get this chaps name just incase the parking enforcement take a differing view - that way you could at least send him the ticket!

"some nameless man who claims to do it all the time said it was OK" isnt much of a defence should it come to an appeals tribunal

Be careful. He may make a charge for giving his name.

Think its good the council is doing this hope it may catch on with other councils and the charge seems fair to me but i don't expect something for nothing

Yes it was Donald and Jacqueline and they seemed to have a lot of visitors into the early hours

But that's how councils (and government in general) work. Take council tax, I'm sitting here in my pretty house (so pretty a few years back a photo of it was in council publicity pamphlets), we don't use anymore of councils services than anyone else, but because our house is valued quite high we get stung by high council tax.

Malagaoth states. As I have said it is unlikely that I will park overnight in skipton car park again - you might not mind being milked but I do[/QUOTE]

Mm sounds painful if not a little kinky:fun:
