Motorhome internal wooden floor repair

Perhaps a little lateral thinking? Luthiers repair similar damage to acoustic guitars all the time and the repair is almost imperceptible. IIRC, it involves carefully chiselling away the damaged veneer and gluing in a replacement. It helps if the join between old and new follows the grain. Searching the 'net might give a better idea...

I don't understand that. The more battered the guitar the better it looks in my opinion. Mine have tons of battle scars although one of my acoustics many years ago was fatally wounded when Michelle framed it over my head.

You could of course take it to 'The Repair Shop' and feed them a story about your granny left you the motorhome in her will and you are traumatised because it is no longer perfect.

We could then all watch it when they air the program and have a laugh watching you shed Crocodile tears as you lie your fat Yorkshire ass off. (no offence).

You and me both -- all my instruments bear their scars with pride!
However, there are some who are perhaps a little precious, and this gives luthiers a market for those skills. There's a lot of other info on YouTube about repairing dings in veneer, and not just on instruments:

That is how I get dents and deep scratches out of real wood, never tried it on laminate though

The same witchcraft that can help reduce "cowboy chord dents" in a fretboard. The luthier I passed my 'lawsuit' D28 copy to for a refret and general setup used this method to get most of the dings out of the fretboard over the first few frets after removing the old frets and before installing new.

It is tried and tested on solid wood as you can sand out a wider area and cosmetically it is easier to blend the repair. I wouldn't like to try it on laminate flooring which tends to have a raised grain as a finish, I suspect Barry would end up with the imprint of an iron ............... and/or a gooey mess. Leave it be unless you've got some spare laminate at home to experiment on, you'd need to drop the laptop again though

Maybe take a hammer to it and knock down the rest of the floor to the depth of the ding?

Put a plectrum over the ding and mark round it. Carefully cut the shape out to about 1mm deeper than the plectrum. Mix up some clear resin, put a drop in the hole, then place in the plectrum and top the hole up with resin. It will make great talking point for years to come,,,, praps

2. measure the remaining hole.
3. Lift bed/sofa to expose an area that not used/visible.
4. Carefully cut out a section from there with a chainsaw to size measured of damaged area.
5. Glue new section in hole and blend in join.
6. Cut off a bit of 4x2 and nail in area the was exposed under sofa
7. This will prevent loss of rings in future.
8. Admire workmanship and take praise from cleaner.

Works on wood, not sure it would be a good thing to do in the average motorhome which has a thin 'paper' veneer.
