Motorcycle Cruiser wanted

24hr to spain ,1day drive then ferry to maroc .you are in africa.
cost of living cheap in africa . the trouble with bulgaria is you have to drive through some not too nice countries to get there. in autumn ,spring. having been and looked i didnt find the appeal for me. cant knock it just did,nt appeal .
think i like summer (i hope) in uk then away in winter .its a good balance . the drive further south is exciting and seems like an adventure, may be to the sinai this winter.
off topic a friend and me are thinkingof doing route 66 on dax,s take 2 months .cant be in a hurry and will have to be in a warm time. anyone else fancy it. either ship from here or buy there .
cheers alan.

Africa or is it morocco...:)

Done the Morocco and Algeria thing in 1978,when it was still like Africa (a little) as for driving to Bulgaria..... not to nice a countries which way did you drive as there are at least 3 routes to there,Italy/Greece is a nice ride/drive and i think they are ok ?as in pleasantry, beauty and peoples, although the other routes too, i and my Mrs has enjoyed and have had no problems what so ever,Austria, hungary and Romania are ' nice ' countries, and believe it or not, another route (Serbia) is also beautiful and ' nice ',each to their own i suppose.
Morocco for me was to ' basic ' and baron for me personally, different yes, locals wearing duffle coats and wellies in February ,while myself and my friends were in shorts !!! Again i cant comment on Africa or Morocco anyway, now,as i haven't been there recently, but believe that many a new resort, holiday homes and hotels have sprung up over the last 5 years,so i would think, similar to Fuengerola but with camels !!??

drive down to gambia . mali etc all open now. yes its barron but full of surprises i love it.
its not the countries but the weather in some of them not so good aut/spr.
i dont knock it, just not for me. i,m sure lots peeps love it.
good job we are all different.
did spain n portugal this winter be happy not to go there again .
200 vans squeezed on little car parks all afraid to go into the wilds ,more like herded sheep. think they are wild camping .
did get on the west coast -galicia that was better. but chilly.

We found northern Portugal more to our liking, not too many vans & some really nice places. I agree some people just seem to stay in the one place (probably because it's free). Nice to have a couple of other vans around but some places are worse than being on a Tesco car park:eek:

hi ed, sorry to drift off your post.you may have seen us on our travels .i drive a mitsubishi pulling mini artic trailer ,my mate had a purple daf 45. (purple dreams ,his old bus was purple haze).
both quite well known on the winter circuits. seen once not forgotten.
going by last winter it could be the end of free camping soon.
have fun ,cheers alan.
