Not long got back from our 4 week break in France.
Ist day in France our bedroom window de-laminated. So as you can see we managed to patch it up with Gorilla Tape in order to carry on.
We are now trying to get replacement windows. We thought about replacing 3 windows, rather expensive I know . Tezza told me of a company up north that makes the windows to order, £400 to £450 each. However, there is an 8 week waiting period. We are booked out to go again at the end of April so this is not going to work. I had thought of putting 2 strips, the full height of the window in upvc (inner and outer) drill 3 small holes down each one and put in some very small nuts and bolts to keep it in position. Unlikely that it can be resealed as the inner pane has broken off from the slide in slit at the top.
Any ideas to be able to get us by for the next trip or about replacement windows will be gratefully received.
PJ

looking at that picture and your description, the two panes are glued or heat-welded or however it is done all around the outside edge? Can you not use the tape to wrap around the two panes all around as a temporary fix to keep in position?
I am probably missing something but I don't see why you would need all the tape going across?

I had a inner part company with the outer on a van I was selling, I used superglue and it seem to hold together well enough, we used it a few times before I sold it on.

But I assume if that would work you'd be telling us how you had fixed it.

EECO always seem to have long waiting times but I don't think I have seen any of there work.

I would in the first instance be looking to buy a used one or new, they look like polyplastic ones, but there is a decal in the corner to confirm.

They are still manufacturing and Might be worth a call

Hi,
A few years ago whebn I was cleaning the kitchem window it came apart in my hands ( de laminated). So we super glued it together. We could do this because the inner pane was still attatched to the top. Unfortunately, it came apart again but luckly while it was stationary again. The problem this time is that the inner pane has actually broken away from the top as well.

We have sent the details from the window to different manufacturers and they are no longer available. The option of buying second hand would be ok if we could find one but prefer to buy new as you could end up with the same problem after a short time.

Sorry, forgot to explain the amount of tape.
It happened on the first day in France, we had to tape it up as we had another 4 weeks to go whether it rained or shined in the south.
Thank you for all replies. The more information and ideas the better.

Do you know the manufactures of the window ?
I saw a temporary repair 2 sheets of Perspex one outside one inside with a bolt thru in each corner squeezing the Perspex onto the rubber seal

Have you tried 3M VHB tape. I know a few that have on windows and it is still going strong a few years later. I haven’t used it on windows but it is very good joining things together.

Thank you for all suggestions, we will look into the recommendations.

Some info in this thread John

and the conclusion

Don't bother chasing around, just go to

They will make you new windows for peanuts money, you won't believe how cheap they are. Well I didn't believe how cheap when I wanted a replacement window for my 1982 Eriba Puck.
And whatever you do, don't try getting a price from the converter manufacturer.

Firstly, I do not know the manufacturer it does not say on the window lozenge just a number etc.
We have had a quote from EECO of nearly £700 (not peanuts to us I am afraid) per window and we need 3.
Waiting time is also 5 to 8 weeks.
Unfortunately we may have to bite the bullet but of the wait time also we are looking at a way of trying to stabilise the window so we can still go away while we wait. Any suggestions gratefully received. PJ

Post a picture of the data sticker on the pane, someone on here will know.

Yes EECO is mega expensive and mega slow, it's only a small part of their business, but a last resort for some, as I said check out ebay and caravan breakers.

If you decide to glue your window for a temporary fix this is recommended for polyplastic acrylic window delamination, it is more like welding than gluing, remember the airfix kits 😂

This one is recommended for a full delamination

Or this one

At least Sietz give you the measurement instead of an indecipherable code.

This is the data sticker on the one on ebay
data sticker.jpg

This is pamjons, the only difference in the sticker is the four digit code at the bottom but without knowing what that code means doesn't help....................................
