We use a fair bit. As I sit writing this, the small heater has been running half an hour. Our 70 litre tank lasts about a month or so in a typical winter, rather longer out of the heating season.
When we refill it is usually 30 or 40 litres or more, though sometimes we top up a smaller amount.
With prices varying by almost £1 per litre, it is well worth topping up if you pass a cheap price, and it can justify a small diversion at times.
