I pull up to the pump, and connect the hose, if it doesn't deliver, either it is broken or they won't turn it on, if the latter then i go ask.

Ahh, got ya! My apoligies, Kev. I only asked because of this thread, I never do normally. But both that I checked with are fine with it.

I'd never ask, asking is asking for a refusal. I also never ask if I can go out for a pint.

I had to try 3 times today to fill up in France:

1. Notice on motorway GPL pump, 'Please pre-pay attendant' (In French of course). Went everywhere and asked every where no-one knew where to pay doh!
2. Next motorway GPL pump - 'Out of order'
3. Lovely English speaking Pilipino lady at cash desk, showed me here they hide their GPL pump , round the back. Filled up finally.

Pulled in today, in Germany,just to top up, only 7litres. Gas heating is always on . My 7.5m van next to THIS! He took on 100l of LPG.
As I didn't have a German fitting with me the kind lady, in impeccable English,at the kiosk opened the box of adaptors and presented me with the correct fitting, danka.

That's the one.
