A lot of you use slow cookers in the van this is great ...one pot cooking.

It uses flank or blade beef which is a real tasty often overlooked cut....ask your butcher ..

add spring onions if you want ..bit OTT with the sugar but a treat !!! once in a while

Only thing I would change is a low salt based soy sauce.

Sounds delicious apart from the word 'jobby' . Means something very undelicious where I'm from

Instead of 'cornstarch' shop for Cornflour in the UK. BW Rog

Made this yesterday with a couple of changes - didn't have brown sugar but used palm sugar and a bit of maple syrup which had been lurking in the cupboard for goodness knows how long. Verdict - lush, sweet sticky and very tasty.

I assume that this recipe is from Inner Mongolia,which is occupied by the Chinese. Outer Mongolia which was a Russian republic and is now an independent state doesn't have beef as a regular ingredient in their cuisine. Their main meat is goat,hogget or mutton,but I don't think the ingredients would work,but it seems tasty none the less. I will try to cook it on a campfire!

Made this a few times now, and getting better at it with each try! Great recipe, very tasty, thank you very much!

I must try this. I will probably add some sliced Chillies, use a bit less Sugar and add a few Dates.

Alas, Here on the Algarve, we can't get Mongolian beef ,Inner Outer or even Central !

My neighbour has just increased his flock of goats that feed on the hillside above our cottage. The Child bride loves looking at the 4 latest kids that are just getting confident enough to get on their feet and explore .....

One of these days :tongue::tongue::tongue:!

OC Domestic made this the other day - really nice, but I could feel my teeth dissolving with each mouthful as quite sticky sweet. Will be doing it again for sure.

Cheers!
